Guys and/or Dolls

I wasn't going to post anything tonight. It's been a hectic yet satisfying weekend - all sorts of things have been achieved, but they're all too mundane to bore you with. So I was going to leave this until tomorrow in the hope that something would irritate me sufficiently to trigger a post. But then I watched Top of the Pops with Small Person (as is Sunday night tradition at Surly Towers) and now I have a question. I don't want to offend, or appear naive, or get all vacant on you, but I know a diverse bunch of weirdos characters drop by, and I thought perhaps someone might have the definitive answer. Alternatively, please feel free to further any scurrilous rumours - I like gossip as much as the next person.

My question centres around the Pussycat Dolls. I heard a rumour on the radio the other day - well, I say I heard a rumour - it was too contentious to air, so since the allusion the other morning I have been speculating on what the scandal might be. Having seen them on the TV this evening, I just wonder if someone can answer me this:

Have one, or some, or all of the Pussycat Dolls previously erred, um, more on the five-o'clock-shadow-and-understanding-sports side of the equation? I studied them intently for the five minutes they were on screen, and a couple of them were a little too close to call.

If you know something, or could care less, feel free to pipe up. Failing that, call me names and I'll bore you some more tomorrow.

Carry on.

I do hope not. I want to keep hating them for their quasi ghetto-speak (Wijjoo? What the hell is wijjoo? Do you mean "with you"?), and I won't be able to if they have gone through the trauma of gender reassignment surgery.

next time you see 'em, homer, i defy you not to imagine some or all of them in a "transform" clinic...

The Pussycat Dolls known in gossipy circles as The Herpes That Walks, apparently. Which made me laugh.

But yes, I'm inclined to like them more if they've smuggled in a tranny.

Well, having never even heard of them, I must say they all look nice and friendly so it doesn't really matter either way.

Whilst doing some research on this issue, I discovered that one of the 'dolls' is named Mia Shittam. How terrible unfortunate, eh? Oh, and she gets my vote for being transgendered for no other reason than doing a Google search for her brings up virtually the same page on different sites. There's a cover up conspiracy there if ever I saw one.

If I may be blunt; I can confirm that most of them have previously had a cock between their legs.
What do you mean, I've misunderstood the question?

Omigod you mean they're transsexuals? They're pretty hot!

Actually my friend and I have always said that their current hit ("Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me...?") would be a GREAT song for us to sing to straight guys :)

So are they supposed to have actually had the surgery or are they just hiding with some well placed gaffer tape?

I really liked the last single but they have immediately moved on to the boring and gooey ballad phase of their careers. Huh.

I would say the one with the bright red hair. At least it has reminded me that I need to wax my moustache.

The Pussycat Dolls were originally a franchise "dance act" (that veered towards lap dancing, apparently) that mimed over whatever records were famous at the time. Dancers came, dancers went - there were no set members, just as there is no "Ian van whatever" - just a bunch of session hires. They gained a sort of notoriety, to the extent that Britney et al sometimes got on stage with them, generally after a few bevvies (in Britney's case, probably something sweet and sticky.)
Eventually their management decided to go global, and do the "real record" thing. The current line up isn't the first, and won't be the last. Bearing in mind the "showgirl" roots, it's almost certain there's been a transexual in one or other of the line ups they've had (apparently common in that sort of act - no idea why), hence any rumours, which may or may not relate to the current lot.

You've no idea how sorry I am to know this sort of stuff.

My money's definitely on the redhead.

They're not exactly young girls either are they?

Maybe that's why I found them so fascinating to watch.

Don't know about all that stuff, although at least I have heard of the pussycat girls. Don't like them though - I find them vaguely disturbing without quite being able to work out why.

I really disliked the concept of Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me? But LOVE the idea of Jay singing it to his straight mates. I can see a whole new lease of life for the song in that context. LOL

I'm not familiar with their work but am sure these rumours will run and run even if there's no truth in them. Hopefully if there are any TS's or TG's they will be more convincing than Nadia from BB !!!

Blogger surly girl chimed in with...

oi! leave nadia alone. she's fabulous, dahhling.

as to the pussycat thingys, i think the redhead has definitely had a bit of reassignment, but also the one on the far right of that picture. and at least one of the others. mind you, the same could be said for girls aloud...

The whole Wijjoo thing really annoys me, too.

The person I could mmost cheerfully smack around the chops with a baseball bat for doing that is Joss-bloody-I'm-a-twat-Stone.

Two singles in and she's talking like she's Justin Timberlake.
Someone just get rid of her, please, I can't stand her.

Now the Pussycat Dolls... I don't care about their origins, they make nice scenery ;)

The redhead's going out with James Blunt.

I think he ought to be told.

On second thoughts....naah.

To be honest it could be anyone of them! I mean there's a lot of them and as my lovely husband pointed out last night what the hell are they all doing? Apart from the lead singer the rest are just fannying around up the back - although given these rumours maybe not fannying as such!!

There not the first to do this though. The Cheeky Girls have been known as The Ladyboys in our house for years!

I've just realised why there are so many of them! Maybe the public have to vote them out of the group week by week until we're left with the true trannie? They could call it Cock Idol!!

05 December, 2005 13:38
Blogger surly girl chimed in with...

genius! i bet simon cowell can spot a trannie at thirty paces tho....i don't know why i might think that but i do.

If James Blunt's going out with the redhead it gives a whole new meaning to "Beautiful".

"She smiled at me on the subway,
She was at that time a man.."
